A woman who stabbed her “abusive” ex-partner received a suspended jail term at a Belfast court. Rosaleen O'Toole (47), of Alexandra Avenue in north Belfast, had originally been charged with the attempted murder of her ex, Declan Croy, after a dispute at their shared home on June 24 three years ago, when their “abusive relationship” was said to have “come to a head”. Judge Corinne Philpott told Belfast Crown Court that while it was clear Ms O'Toole had “suffered considerable violence at the hands of the injured party” she had committed an “extremely serious offence”.
